Friends of Silver Gate (FSG) is a non-profit 501C(3) fundraising organization dedicated to enhancing the education of the children who attend Silver Gate Elementary School. Our efforts support the purchase of items and programs such as school supplies for all students, the garden program, STEAM lab, and classroom grants for needed materials.
FSG works because of you! There is no membership or commitment required. We invite and encourage parent, teacher and community involvement so that each matter can be considered from all perspectives. Our meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month.
FSG events & fundraisers are the engine that supports our mission to enhance the learning experience of all students at Silver Gate. Volunteers are the heart of our organization. We accept any and all help we can get! From small jobs to sponsorships to chairing an event, there are many ways to help.
100% of your gift goes directly to our school programs!
FSG is excited to kick off Silver Gate’s Annual Giving campaign! This year, we aim to raise $30,000 before the end of the year, and we need your help. 100% of your donations go directly to school programs, making a significant impact on our children’s education. Your contributions will support things like the STEAM department, the garden program and the running club, providing our students with enriching experiences and opportunities.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a significant impact on Silver Gate programs. Your contributions support vital initiatives, such as classroom grants, facilities improvements, and enrichment programs that benefit all our students.
Donations are tax-deductible, and many employers offer matching gift programs that can double your impact. Please check with your employer to see if they participate in a matching gift program.
Let’s come together as a community to support Silver Gate and ensure our children have the best resources and programs available. Thank you for your generosity and support!
If you have questions or need help with employer matching, ask us!

We honor the investment of time, energy, and care our teachers put into making school great for students at Silver Gate. FSG supports our teachers with a $500 yearly grant, allowing teachers the opportunity to invest in just what is needed to support themselves and their students in having a successful year.
Every week, Mrs. H welcomes each class to the library to deepen their love of learning and explore new topics through her exciting and engaging curriculum. Without the FSG donor community support to supplement this time, these enriching experiences would be cut in half with a librarian on site only one day per week.
All families are welcome. There is no membership fee. Attend our monthly meetings and events, join our team, or lend a helping hand.
Monthly Meetings: First Wednesday of the month at 6pm
There’s no membership required—if you have a student at Silver Gate, you’re already part of FSG! Meetings are the first Wednesday of each month at 6pm. Event details and volunteer opportunities can be found on Konstella.
Want to help with a specific event or committee? Contact the lead or board and we’ll get you connected!
Silver Gate receives funding from the State of California, but it’s not enough to cover the exceptional classroom instruction and enriching programs our students enjoy. FSG helps bridge that gap by raising the funds needed to support the enhanced curriculum, activities, and opportunities that make Silver Gate such a special place to learn and grow
Each FSG monthly meeting has an opportunity to raise new business. Please feel free to reach out to the FSG President (president@friendsofsilvergate.org) or another board member if you’d like to connect before the meeting.
As a 501(c)3 tax exempt corporation, Friends of Silver Gate is committed to allocating funds raised toward the enrichment experiences, programs, and resources needed to maintain and build on the excellent experience at Silver Gate Elementary, for current students and those to come. Current year budget can be found here and questions can be directed to: treasurer@friendsofsilvergate.org
All donations to FSG are tax deductible.
FSG is not a PTA. PTAs are national organizations with membership dues, while FSG is a local, independent non-profit foundation focused solely on supporting Silver Gate. Every parent or guardian here is automatically part of FSG—no dues required.
Jillian is mom to two boys, now in second grade at Silver Gate and sixth grade at Dana Middle School, and has been involved with FSG since her children enrolled at Silver Gate. Getting involved with FSG has been an incredibly rewarding way to feel connected to the Silver Gate community. She and husband Kevin have enjoyed being a part of putting on the big fall community event, Harvest Fest, and has volunteered for many events and roles throughout the year. Jillian is looking forward to another amazing year at Silver Gate, and is honored to take on the role of FSG President for the 2025-2026 school year. Hope to see you at FSG meetings, events, and we’re so glad you’re here!
